Microsoft for Startups <> Bubble Partnership

Several months ago Microsoft for Startups gave Bubble.io a major stamp of approval through inclusion in its program for startups. The deal allows startups to access $3,000 USD in Bubble Credits to be used over 6 months, as well as $1,600 towards Bubble Bootcamp training. The move is a win for both Bubble.io and for startup founders exploring no-code as an alternative to expensive and time-consuming development teams. Full details are here.

Our first clients are accepted

Our first clients have signed up for Microsoft for Startups and are now in the process of applying for the credits. While the credits are only valid for 6 months, this budget allows founders to deploy Bubble’s production plan for some serious capacity across this timeline. For this reason, I would suggest staying on a lower-level plan (e.g. personal or professional) and choosing to apply for the credit when you anticipate a serious spike in demand for your application.

Bubble Bootcamp program canceled

Also, in a curious development, Bubble has canceled its Bubble Bootcamp program just as the agreement was being inked. While over 2,000 people have gone through the Bubble Bootcamp program (of which I was both a participant and a teacher), it is understandable that Bubble now has bigger fish to fry. I’ve worked with a few of the people on Bubble’s growth team and I understand that deals like this one with Microsoft are the things that will help Bubble to fulfill its strategic objectives of democratizing software development.

As such, Bubble Inc has ceased its Bootcamp program and instead letting the market develop and deliver training programs for its product. If you are interested in learning Bubble, here are some articles I’ve written about your options:

It is currently unclear how Bubble and Microsoft will deliver the credits offered towards the Bubble Bootcamp programs.
