My story — 3 years ago

I felt stuck in my job. Unable to move forward in my career. Life in a big organization can be frustrating. So can transitioning into a new role.

I always loved solving problems with technology. I could see solutions to all kinds of problems in my workplace every day. If only I had the tools to work on one or two of these problems.

I wished there was a path where I could realize my full potential.

What I believed

I thought that path was all about working harder and studying harder. Taking online courses in cloud computing and full stack development. Getting more skills.

I hoped that with enough effort, maybe a company would pick me up as a software developer. Then I would spend 3–5 years learning how to build web applications with code. Then get promoted.

Or maybe, I would have a great business idea, convince my wife to let me pursue it, live on some savings we had built up, and build a company.

The discovery

Then I found the platform Bubble.io. I wanted to learn in a structured way to save time, so I paid $800 (USD) and took a Bubble Bootcamp. I worked around 30 hours per week on learning Bubble and building a minimum viable product.

Within 5 months, I’d left my job and started Momentum Group. It was just me, doing short consulting gigs and teaching Bubble to anyone who wanted to learn!

What struck me was the huge demand for people who:

knew Bubblecould communicate effectivelycould build a digital product end to endThere was a huge demand for people that could create value for the organizations, solving problems with tech.

Now

Fast forward 3 years. I built a consulting business with over 20 full-time team members and over $1mil (USD) revenue annually.

As the Managing Director at Momentum Group, I’m helping a number of businesses scale up their products or services — while developing my own cohesive product team.

If I wanted a job, I could land a well-paid CTO job at any number of progressive startups embracing Bubble and no-code low-code (NCLC) tools.

The results

I’m no longer stuck, wondering “What if”. I took action and made the leap into a new phase of my career.

My journey hasn’t been an easy one, but I really love the work I get to do, and the impact I get to make. I’m 100% satisfied in my role as a Bubble Developer and product leader.
