At MomentumGroup.tech, we’ve built many Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for clients on the no-code platform Bubble.io.
Minimum viable products and Payment gateways
Most products have included a payment gateway such as Stripe or PayPal.
And one thing we ALWAYS end up doing is needing to add more flexibility around the payment integration than the founders anticipated.
The lesson here is this:

When building MVPs, create a way for the founders to switch the requirement to pay on and off because there will be times when they need to show the product to a potential customer or test it out on 5 or 50 initial users for feedback.
Rigidity in Product Design results in higher dev costs
Being too rigid with Payments always results in more dev costs. As an experienced product manager building MVPs, we should anticipate the kinds of requirements we have seen in past projects for our clients.
These are a massive value-add, and create a superior experience for our clients.

Where this story went
We spent five years mastering Bubble. Now we build with AI.
Momentum was one of the world's leading Bubble.io agencies — that's why we wrote this article. These days we build and migrate the same kinds of products with Claude Code: real, portable code your own team can amend with AI. If you're weighing up a move off Bubble (or any platform), we've made the journey ourselves.
