What is our moat?

As an agency owner, I have to keep asking the question “how do we offer value?” Another way of putting is this… “what is our moat?”. What do we do that is different, better, and more innovative than our competitors?

As I reflect, I believe it comes down to a few things:

(1) Strong product management. Good product managers can prevent big mistakes by not even going there in the first place! Also, they have systems in place to ensure great communication and documentation.

(2) Combining UXUI with Bubble. Most Bubble devs are generalists who cross both. We have specialists in each one of these disciplines. Sure it costs a bit more. But the results are exponentially better. Our products are usable and intuitive.

(3) Development method. We have a documented methodology that ties in with our Product Management, UXUI, and Dev teams. We start your project on a firm foundation.

We don’t start at 0

We don’t start your project at “0” like most other agencies. We start with the results of everything we’ve done before. We stand upon the shoulders of our current and former colleagues and clients, and the work we have done together. We’ve created an organization that learns from and develops those who exist within it.

Design system

We have a design system in Figma that ties into our Blueprint methodology. Everything we’ve learned, we return to our master methodology and use this learning as the building blocks for future projects.

As a result, we’ve produced an internal library of application building blocks.

We have production rules

We have documented production rules to ensure that only high-quality visual code makes it into your app. We control to make sure our logic is organized optimally. Our elements are named correctly.

We look for common problems and prevent them before they lead to intermittent bugs in production.

Our apps are maintainable and supportable in the future. Reliability is core.

Building apps isn’t easy

We don’t claim that app building is easy. It’s not. But assuming you have decided to build an app, then we guess (unless you’re very early on) that you realize it is hard. It is also rewarding. But it is hard.
