Seven Reasons to Build Your Next Website on Bubble.io

Introduction

Bubble is known as the godfather of full-stack no-code web application builders, but often gets written off as a poor choice to build a website, citing technical SEO concerns such as mobile page load speeds.

While these are becoming less of an issue over time as Bubble improves it’s platform, there are lesser-discussed reasons why Bubble is a great choice for building beautiful, data-driven web experiences.

If any of these are important to your use case, consider Bubble.

Easily configurable data-driven web content

Bubble vs DIY Website Builders

Unlike alternative no-code builders (Wix, Squarespace, Kajabi, and the like), Bubble can be configured to load content dynamically from the database.

Bubble’s database is easy enough to explore, create, and update content, even for people with only a few hours of training.

Bubble vs WordPress (or similar)

Compared to WordPress which is loading content from a database, Bubble allows you to easily update the structure of the database, as well as the content. You can’t easily go into WordPress’s MySQL database, add additional fields, create additional table relationships, and then manage the content. That is unless you are an experienced developer.

Types of dynamic content

If your website needs data like:

Services,Events,FAQs,Blogs,Profiles,Social Proof icons,Categories/Subcategories,Tags,Products, and/orDonations… …Bubble is a much better alternative than almost anything I’ve seen.

Want to build a dynamic web platform that displays data from a database? Bubble is the best choice in the market.

Dynamic SEO

Coupled with the previous point about being data-driven, in Bubble, it’s easy to create a page which is a template for a data type. e.g. Create a page called “Service” and marry this to the “Service” table in your database, using Page Type of Content.

When you create a Service row of data, set the URL slug as something meaningful. e.g.** momentumgroup.tech/service/bubble-io-app-audit.**

Now imagine we add 100 services to our website. Simply enable the sitemap on the Service page, and Bubble will generate a dynamic sitemap for each of the services in your database.

The same applies to page metadata like Page Titles, Page Descriptions, and Images.

All are super-easy to configure dynamically from the database, so you can say whatever you want to help crawlers find your site.

All this without having to edit page after page in a typical WYSIWYG website editor (think Wix, Squarespace et. al. again).

In case you didn’t notice - this blog-article page is doing exactly what I am discussing. Page blog-article ties to data type Blog Article.

Optimising user flows to purchase/signup

Is a goal of your website getting users to sign up, or purchase? Bubble allows you to handle this functionality on your site, so you can create a seamless user experience and reduce friction.

In Bubble, you can build exactly what you want, and make it performant, so your users can easily get to where you want them to (versus the clunkiness of having a “marketing site” and redirecting them to your web application).

Full customization of design

Bubble lets you craft exactly what you want, exactly how you or your designers see it.

Create your design system using styles. Create style variables for colours and fonts. Define micro-interactions precisely to let the user know what is going on. Add animations.

Yes, it takes a bit more time and effort to do this than using website builders, but the point is you have no restraints and full creative control - which is important when crafting specific experiences.

Responsive design engine

Along with customizing the design full stop, Bubble also allows you to specify exactly the responsive parameters you want, you can make your site work on any device.

You can create adaptive or stacking designs, and manage the fine details about how these appear on a range of devices.

Analytics📈

Measure engagement

My personal favorite reason for using Bubble for websites (after a long career in data analytics) is that you can log events, capture IP addresses, geographical data, browser data, URL paths, and URL parameters (cough UTM codes) in tables in your database on page load, on an event, on error, and database transactions.

Customised notifications

When they submit a form, you can attach it to your logs, and send that data off to your email marketing stack or external spreadsheet (should you so desire).

You can send yourself emails with this data, slack messages, or pipe the data across to Google Analytics or Segment.

Usability testing

You can add additional services like Hotjar or competitors, to see the exact journey people take on each page, including scrolling, clicking and browsing.

Granular data export

You can export the raw data to your favourite analytics tools for deeper analysis.

You can load up that sucker with so much instrumentation that you think there is no way it will work under the pressure, and it still performs.

Learn everything you want about user acquisition, retention, and demographics. Never be blind again with the most granular, user-level data your money can buy!

Now you may say other providers can do lots of these things as well. But with Bubble, you can set it up and configure how everything works 100x more flexibly that “just adding a plugin” in one of its competitors.

Creation of specific experiences

The customisation doesn’t just stop at beautiful UI designs, with Bubble you have the flexibility to craft the whole user flow to your requirements. And that’s just the point.

With no-code, Bubble lets you create the experience you want with what would otherwise take multiple tools in your stack and stitching them together (Oh Webflow and Xano, or WordPress with a ****load of plugins that ultimately cause a maintainability headache, the list goes on).

Conclusion

If you want to build it, it can be done on Bubble. And the best thing is that it’s 100% maintainable by non-tech users with a few hours of training.
