Common questions
Is the website really free?
The running of it is — hosting, SSL and deploys on Netlify's free tier cost nothing, and your only recurring bill is the domain name (about $20 a year). The design-and-build engagement is a normal one-off project fee, quoted up front. No subscriptions, no retainer.
What's the catch?
There isn't one, but there are honest limits: Netlify's free tier covers the traffic of most business sites, and if you outgrow it you'd move to a paid tier (still cheap). Third-party tools you choose — booking systems, e-commerce — have their own costs. We'll spell out every assumption before you commit.
What happens if we part ways?
Nothing bad — that's the point. The code lives in your GitHub repository, the domain is yours, and any developer (or an AI tool in your own hands) can pick it up. There's no platform to be trapped in and nothing to export.
How is this different from a cheap website builder?
A builder is cheap to start and expensive to live with: monthly fees, template ceilings, and a site you can never take with you. This is the reverse — a professional build up front, then near-zero running costs and full ownership.
Who is this for?
Small and medium businesses, startups and for-purpose organisations that want a fast, professional site without signing up to platform rent. If you're currently paying monthly for Squarespace, Wix or WordPress hosting plus a maintenance plan, the maths usually favours moving.
