Migrate off GoDaddy

Sold a website builder with your domain? We rebuild it as a fast, professional site you actually own — and carry your Google presence across.

You own the code

A lot of businesses ended up on GoDaddy's Websites + Marketing builder because it came bundled with the domain — not because it was the right tool. It's basic, it's slow, it's full of upsells, and your site is locked to their platform. We rebuild GoDaddy sites with Claude Code on Astro: a genuinely professional site, hosted almost free, that lives in a repository you own — and we keep your domain and your search presence intact through the move.

  • Content lifted and rebuilt properly
  • Every URL 301-mapped and tested

  • Schema, analytics & LLMO wired in

Why Momentum

A builder that came with a domain isn't a strategy

GoDaddy is a fine place to register a domain. Its website builder is another matter — it's designed to be cheap and sticky, not fast or ownable, and it quietly upsells you as you grow. Moving off it gets you a site that loads properly, ranks better and belongs to you, usually for less than the builder-plus-add-ons was costing. You can keep your domain exactly where it is, or we'll help you move it out too.

Why teams leave GoDaddy

  • A real, professional site — not a template
  • No upsells or platform lock-in
  • Faster pages, better rankings
  • Keep your domain, own your code

FAQ

Common questions

Can I keep my domain if I leave the GoDaddy builder?

Yes. Your domain and GoDaddy's website builder are separate things — we can point the domain at your new site while it stays registered at GoDaddy, or help you transfer it out entirely. Either way, nothing about your email or domain breaks.

Will I lose my Google presence?

No, when it's done properly. We inventory every existing URL, map and test 301 redirects before launch, and stage the cutover so nothing goes dark — then monitor afterwards to confirm your search presence held.

Is my GoDaddy site worth rebuilding, or should I start fresh?

Usually a fast rebuild that keeps what works and fixes what doesn't — GoDaddy sites tend to be small, so this is quick. We'll give you a straight answer once we've seen it.

How long does it take?

Often one to three weeks, because sites on the GoDaddy builder are typically compact. Most of the time goes into content and the redirect map rather than the build.

What will it cost to run afterwards?

Usually just your domain (around $20 a year). Netlify's free tier hosts most business sites, so the monthly builder plan and its add-ons disappear.

On a different platform?

Start from where you are now — each guide covers that platform's specific quirks, redirects and running-cost.
