Migrating a website is easy. Migrating it without losing your Google rankings is the hard part, and it's the part we specialise in: full URL inventories, tested 301 maps, staged cutovers and post-launch search monitoring. Momentum is a Sydney studio that rebuilds sites with Claude Code on modern infrastructure — and treats your search equity as the most valuable thing being moved.

Our Work
A few we're proud of.
Why Momentum
Proof, not promises
We have run this playbook on our own properties and for clients. A recent charity migration moved a 14-year-old WordPress site to Astro with its full search history mapped: organic clicks went from 9 to 149 a month immediately post-cutover, because nothing was dropped — every legacy URL, even from retired sub-domains, was inventoried from Search Console data and 301-mapped to its new home. That level of care is the whole job.
Let's talkWhy teams choose us
- Search equity treated as the asset it is
- Redirect maps built from real GSC data
- Staged cutovers, rehearsed
- 9 → 149 organic clicks/mo on a recent migration
FAQ
Common questions
Will my Google rankings survive a migration?
Yes, if it's engineered: every existing URL inventoried (we pull Search Console data, not just the sitemap), 301 redirects mapped and tested before launch, and a staged cutover so nothing ever goes dark. That's our standard method, and we monitor rankings after launch to prove it held.
How long does a website migration take?
Two to six weeks for a typical marketing site, depending on page count and integrations. The rebuild is fast because we build with Claude Code; the care goes into the content audit and redirect engineering.
What happens to my old blog posts and pages?
They're inventoried and either carried across, consolidated, or redirected to the closest relevant page — deliberately, page by page, based on what each URL earns in search. We've restored entire legacy archives where the content still had value.
What will the new site cost to run?
Usually just your domain name. We build on Astro and Netlify, where hosting for most business sites is free — compared with platform fees and maintenance retainers, most clients' running costs drop to near zero.
Do you migrate e-commerce or web apps too?
Yes — apps are a staged rebuild (we're ex-Bubble specialists, so no-code migrations are a specialty), and for e-commerce we'll recommend the honest path, which sometimes means keeping a dedicated platform like Shopify for the store itself.
